Job Description
Reporting
This position reports directly to the Director or Clinical Services and Nursing.

Remuneration Package
$350,000 AUD (negotiable)

Primary Roles and Responsibilities
Conducting examinations and questioning patients to determine the nature of disorders and illnesses, and recording patients’ medical information
Ordering laboratory tests, X-rays and other diagnostic procedures, and interpreting findings to assist in diagnosis
Providing overall care for patients, and prescribing and administering treatments, medications and other remedial measures
Monitoring patients’ progress and response to treatment
Advising on diet, exercise and other habits which aid prevention and treatment of disease and disorders
Referring patients to, and exchanging medical information with, specialist Medical Practitioners
Reporting births, deaths and notifiable diseases to government authorities
Arranging the admission of patients to hospitals

Requirements
Specialist qualifications in General Practice
To be considered for this position you must be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident or be willing to be sponsored and comply with visa requirements allowing you to live and work in Australia.
Recognised medical degree from Australia; United Kingdom; Canada; South Africa or New Zealand
Willingness to progress towards FRACGP and/or FACRRM qualifications would be considered
Current and appropriate registration with the Medical Board of Australia, or be eligible for such.
Applied knowledge, skills and experience in general practice as appropriate for the position
Satisfactory participation in quality improvement and continuing professional development to at least the same standards as the Royal Australian College of General Practice’s (RACGP) Quality Assurance and Continuing Professional Development (QA & CPD) Program
Training in CPR, undertaken within the past three years
Current Medical Indemnity Cover or be eligible for such
Current police check
